Read our FAQ for a more detailed overview. If you have
any more questions, feel free to contact us and
we will then also update this list to help others.
1.
We believe all children are artists...
We are devoted to the idea that, from an early age, all children
have creative and artistic flair. As adults, it is all too easy to
pigeonhole children
as being good or bad at art. We believe this stops children's
creative development. We hope that by creating an Arty-kids piece
of art you can celebrate your child's
creativity.

Why we donate cash to a children’s art charity?
We believe the joys of art should be encouraged and enjoyed by all
children, independent of background or skills. Art shouldn’t be
for the fortunate few. As such, we take an
active role
in supporting children’s art charities that promote art for all. This
year, we are supporting Arts
and Kids.
We will donate
£10 to Arts and Kids for every piece of art you buy. Each £10
donation enables one child to have new access to the
arts.

How is Arty-kids helping the environment?
We believe that we have a responsibility to our environment, and
where possible environmental considerations have been addressed at
each stage of producing a piece of Arty-kids work. This will be our children’s
world one day; they deserve us to be respectful of it and to do what we
can not todamage
it. Amongst
other
things,
Arty-kids is a carbon-neutral company. If you are interested, contact
us to find out what else we do.

How do I send you my children’s images?
We offer a free postal collection service; contact us and we will send you a hard backed envelope with the return post paid. Getting us your children’s images is now easy and straightforward. Contact
us now to arrange collection.
Alternatively, you can scan the images in yourself if you have a
home scanner. Talk to us before you do this so that we can make sure
you
scan them
correctly. We require images scanned to at least 600dpi.
This can make
the file sizes very large and you would need to send us the images
on a CD/DVD. Alternatively, you could use a local print shop to
do it for you,
though this may be an expensive alternative. Check www.yell.co.uk for
a local printer.

5. What does a free consultation consist of?
When commissioning Arty-kids to create a piece of work,
we believe very much in a consultative approach. We are happy
to discuss your requirements and review your child’s paintings free
of charge. We will help you to decide which images would work best and
which formats
most suit
the images, eg canvas or fine art paper.
Once you have commissioned an Arty-kids piece of art, you will receive
a digital mock-up of what the image will look like before we go to print.
We are committed to creating a stunning piece of art that will take pride
of place on any wall in your home.

What can Arty-kids add to a child's original artwork and who does
it?
So often, kids' drawings become creased or buckled. They tend
to be done on poor quality paper and may be folded,
torn, have stains on them, or even be sellotaped in two halves. They
are often on odd coloured or grey paper and can use heavy
paints that flake or colours that fade. This is where Arty-kids can
reveal the true, lasting magic of the art your child has produced...
Although
we can’t promise to solve every problem, we are always up for
a challenge! Our trained graphic designers and artists will digitally
clean up the
images, sometimes enhancing the colours,
cropping or re-positioning
the images to create striking compositions while diligently keeping
the
core
elements of the original. You’ll be amazed at how brilliantly
your child's artistry shines through - like a restored masterpiece!

7. Why do we use an archival quality printer?
You’ve probably realised that we are dedicated to creating high-quality
pieces of art. All the craftsmen we use are highly skilled.
We print using an archival quality Giclée printer, which in layman’s
terms means it is very, very good! Or to put it another way fine art
museums around the world, including the Louvre, New York's Metropolitan Museum,
and the Guggenheim, display Giclées as part of their collections
- if it’s good enough for them it’s good enough for us. We
use printers that are artists in their own right.

8. What other skilled craftmen do you use?
Our framers are Commended Fine Art Trade Guild members and, if required,
we can offer variations on our recommended frames. We are also using
the cutting edge of technology to bring you the ability to print
on ceramics,
creating stunning designs that are dishwasher safe. See the gallery
section for more inspiration.

9. Can you print on any other types of materials?
We want to help make kids' art important and treasured. We are always
looking for new techniques and if you have any ideas or inspired thoughts
on what would fit your home, let us know and we can see if we can find
the technology to match your needs. We are at present researching block-mounted
prints, cases to mount sculptures, and a technique to allow us to print
onto fabric so we can create duvets, curtains, t-shirts or even bags.

10. How long does it take?
On average, it takes us less than 21 days to complete an Arty-kids image,
though this time can be a lot shorter. If you do need an image quickly,
let us know and we will do everything in our power to accommodate
your needs.

11. Can I order more prints at a later stage?
One of the beauties of Arty-kids is that once we have digitally re-mastered
your children’s paintings, we can re-print the images easily to a
smaller size, whether this is to create something as simple as a set
of greeting cards or perhaps
a small framed version for grandparents or aunts and uncles. Images
may need to be rescanned if the image needs to be made larger.
Remember that any additional order come with a 25% discount.

12. Are there any copyright issues?
The copyright stays with you and your
child whatever we do with the image. We will not reproduce any work
without your written consent and will not sell any prints
to third
parties.
